Cartiera Confalone to Build New Tissue Mill in Montoro, Italy

Italy’s Cartiera Confalone will build a 38,000-metric tpy tissue mill in Montoro, not far from Naples.
The firm applied for an environmental permit (AIA in Italian) last year. According to the project plan, the new mill will produce approximately 38,000 metric tpy of tissue from virgin fiber. The AIA procedure is now in its final stages.
In December 2016, the firm’s project received Euro 46.4 million ($52.1 million) in financing from the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
According to Fastmarkets RISI’s Asset Database, Cartiera Confalone can currently produce some 20,000 tonnes/yr of tissue for paper towels and napkins for the retail and commercial markets at its Salerno mill. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
