Malaysia’s NTPM Holdings has fired up a second tissue machine at its mill in Binh Duong province, close to Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Vietnam.
The 22,000-mtpy machine churned out its first sheet of paper in mid-June. Provided by Chinese supplier Shandong Xinhe Paper Making Engineering, the unit has a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,500 m/min.
The Malaysian firm runs the Binh Duong site through wholly owned subsidiary NTPM (Vietnam). The facility, located in Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park II, began life in 2014 as a tissue product converting plant and diversified into tissue paper production in 2015. Its first tissue machine, supplied by Chinese company Hangzhou Dalu Industrial, has a capacity of around 10,000 mtpy.
Back in Malaysia, NTPM operates two tissue paper mills; one in Nibong Tebal in Penang state and the other in Bentong in the Pahang state, with a combined capacity of approximately 120,000 mtpy. It is the largest tissue producer in the country.
Last October it started up a new 22,000-mtpy tissue machine from Shandong Xinhe at its mill in Penang. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
