Malaysia’s NTPM Fires up New Tissue Machine in Vietnam

Malaysia’s NTPM Holdings has begun trial production on a new 22,000-mtpy tissue machine at its mill in Binh Duong province, close to Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Vietnam. 

The first sheet of paper rolled off the line in late October.

Provided by Chinese supplier Shandong Xinhe Paper Making Engineering, the unit has a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,500 m/min.

An identical TM was started at the site in mid-June.

Run by the Malaysian company’s wholly owned subsidiary NTPM (Vietnam), the Binh Duong mill operates one other tissue machine. It has a capacity of around 10,000 mtpy and was commissioned in 2015.
