According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, Georgia-Pacific LLC is permanently closing one of its facilities in Green Bay, affecting 55 employees.
The Atlanta-based company operates four plants in Green Bay. The converting facility at 1100 W. Mason St. is closing, and its napkin and towel production will move to other local facilities, the company said, according to news reports.
"After careful review of the current state of the facility, the company determined that its napkin and towel business should be produced at other GP facilities, including other facilities in Green Bay," the company wrote in a letter to Wisconsin workforce development officials.
