The installation of Slovak Hygienic Paper (SHP) Group’s new tissue machine at its Paloma mill in Slovenia is progressing according to plan. The company recently announced that the transport of the new line’s Yankee cylinder had commenced. “The largest investment in the Slovenian paper industry in the last 40 years is approaching the final execution stages,” it commented.
SHP tapped Italy’s Toscotec in July last year for the new tissue machine at its Paloma mill in Sladki Vrh. The new line, PM 9, will have a capacity of around 80,000 metric tpy. Startup is scheduled for June.
“The net sheet width is 5,500 mm, the maximum operating speed is 2,000 m/min and the production capacity is 220 metric tpd,” Toscotec said in a previous statement. “The Ahead-2.0L machine will replace the mill’s existing PM 6 and will manufacture high-quality toilet tissue, kitchen towels and napkins for household and professional use in the AfH segment,” it added.
According to Fastmarkets RISI’s Asset Database, the Paloma mill’s PM 6 has a production capacity of 38,000 metric tpy. The mill also houses PMs 3, 4 and 5, which can manufacture some 13,000, 11,000 and 12,000 metric tpy, respectively. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
