Italian Firm Iriapak to Open $7-Million Tissue Packaging Facility in New Orleans

Accoring to New Orleans City business, Italian packaging firm Iriapak is moving forward with plans to put a $7 million manufacturing facility in New Orleans East, state officials said.

The announcement comes a month after the New Orleans City Council granted the company a tax break under the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program. It will net the firm at least $435,624 in exemptions over the next five years and the potential to receive $637,981.

The program exempts companies from 80 percent of property taxes for up to 10 years.
