The Sofidel America plants in Circleville, Ohio, and Haines City, Florida, obtained the BRC (British Retail Consortium) “Consumer Product Standard for Household & Personal Care Products” certification, a standard that certifies that business processes take into account product safety, legality and quality requirements and the company’s ability to deliver safe and quality products to final consumers. Haines City obtained the “A”, while Circleville went a step further and achieved “AA” certification, the maximum achievable: only one other production site has ever achieved this recognition in the United States.
Moreover, Sofidel America has decided to acquire BRC certification for all its production sites. Starting in July, the Green Bay plant, Wisconsin, will also begin the process of obtaining certification, followed by Inola in Oklahoma, in November. In 2021, it will be the turn of the production sites in Las Vegas, NV, and Hattiesburg, MS.
By providing its customers with certified proof of the safety, quality and legality of its products, Sofidel further highlights its desire to strengthen the private label business line in the United States. BRC certification is designed for specific product sectors (e.g., food production, consumer products and packaging) and is issued only after an independent and rigorous verification process conducted by an accredited body. It responds to the growing need by American retailers to equip themselves with tools that help them build consumer trust. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
