The installation of Slovak Hygienic Paper (SHP) Group's new tissue machine at its Paloma mill is progressing. The company stopped its existing PM 6 at the site in late June. A Toscotec team is dismantling the machine, which will be replaced by a new AHEAD-2.0L tissue line.

SHP tapped Toscotec in July 2019 for the new tissue line for the mill in Sladki Vrh. The new line, PM 9, will have a capacity of around 220 tonnes/day. Delivery was originally scheduled for March and startup for this month. However, the coronavirus pandemic delayed the project.

In May, SHP announced that civil works on the new PM site had restarted. "To ensure the safety of our employees and external contractors the works on our new Paloma paper machine were suspended for almost two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We can now proudly announce that civil works restarted as of May 4, strictly following all safety instructions issued by the National Institute of Public Health and the Slovenian Ministry of Health," the company said at the time.

The new line will have a net sheet width of 5,500 mm and a maximum operating speed of 2,000 m/min. It will produce toilet tissue, kitchen towels and napkins for household and professional use.
