Italian P&B Production Falls by 2.4 percent Y-on-Y during the First Four Months of 2020

Italian paper and board (P&B) production fell by 2.4 percent year on year during the first four months of the year and by 4.3 percent during April alone, according to data from the Italian association of pulp, paper and board producers Assocarta.
Production of graphic paper sank by 15.4 percent on a year-on-year basis, while specialty paper production slipped by 1.0 percent during the period. Tissue and packaging paper production improved by 2.3 percent and by 2.5 percent, respectively, during the four-month period.
In April alone, when all of Italy was locked down, production of graphic paper plummeted by 25.0 percent year on year, while specialty paper production fell by 17.7 percent. Meanwhile, tissue paper production rose by 5.2 percent year on year and packaging paper production increased by 4.5 percent. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
