Arkhbum Tissue Group, part of Russia’s Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill (APPM) and Pulp Mill Holding, plans to start the installation of a new table napkin production line at its Vorsino site in November this year. The line will be supplied by Italy's OMET at a cost of Euro 2 million ($2.35 million.)
With the installation of this line, Arkhbum Tissue will complete the first stage of its investment program to expand the range of its products, the company said in a statement. The commissioning work will be completed in winter 2021, and the range of products will be expanded with 1-, 2- and 3-layer types of paper napkins.
The new equipment includes one converting line, one individual and one group wrapper machine and an automatic palletizing robot. The new line will have a production capacity of 150 million napkins/month. The line will produce table napkins for sale under the firm’s Soffione brand, as well as for various supermarket chain brands.
While launching new products may seem risky during the uncertain pandemic period, demand for tissue products, both napkins and toilet paper, is expected to remain solid, a company spokesperson said.
Regarding toilet paper production, the company said that a third converting line from Italy's Futura will be delivered to Vorsino in December this year. Installation will commence in January 2021, and the launch is expected in March or April 2021. The annual capacity of the line will be 276 million standard rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. The total cost of the entire third line project is Euro 8.2 million ($9.6 million.) Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
