In India, Century Textiles has announced a delay in the startup of its new TM until next month at least. Last year the firm announced the tissue capacity at its sole mill in Nainatal, Uttarakband, would be doubled with a new 36,000-mtpy Valmet tissue machine. The unit was due to start in October, but Century has announced it is now hopeful for a November startup instead. Century has explained its paper sector has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, both in terms of demand and in human terms, with dozens of staff infections reported. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
