Hayat Kimya to Expand in Russia With New PM at its Kaluga Region Plant

According to Fastmarkets RISI, Hayat Russia, a subsidiary of Turkey’s Hayat Kimya, will invest Rouble 9 billion ($116 million) in the construction of a new tissue paper machine for the production of toilet paper, paper towels and napkins in the Kaluga region. The new PM will have a capacity of 70,000 mtpy.
The plant will manufacture paper under the Papia and Familia brands, as well as base paper at the firm’s site in the Kaluga Special Economic Zone, the Agency for Regional Development of the Kaluga Region said in a statement.
This will be Hayat Kimya’s fourth tissue PM in Russia, in line with its goal of strengthening its position in the country. Currently, the firm has a total production capacity of 280,000 mtpy in Russia.
Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, an international financial institution, has approved a loan of Euro 75 million ($89 million) to help finance the expansion project. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
