Essity and the government of the Russian region of Tula have agreed on the implementation of an investment project for further development of hygiene product manufacturing in the area. Essity plans to launch a third production line at its factory in Sovetsk, while moving some production to its Venev factory. The project should be completed by 2022, and the investments will amount to Rouble 1.6 billion ($21.7 million).
“The company has been cooperating with the Tula region for several decades and there are currently two production facilities here. The government of the Tula region is ready to provide Essity with all-around support at all stages of the project,” the region’s governor Alexey Dyumin said in a statement.
Essity opened two plants in the Tula region in 2010, a facility in Sovetsk where Zewa and Tork hygiene paper is produced, and a factory in Venev for the production of personal care products such as Libero baby diapers and TENA adult diapers. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
