International technology group Andritz has successfully started-up a heat recovery chain of the tissue machine PM3 at ICT at its mill in Piano di Coreglia, Italy.
The heat recovery chain, supplied by Andritz Novimpianti, includes a PrimeDry YES Yankee Ecosteam System that produces approximately one third of the steam required for the Yankee by utilizing exhaust air from the Yankee hood. Thus, energy costs and CO2 emissions can be reduced.
Additional energy savings are reached with the new PrimeDry Heat Recovery system that recovers and reuses the heat generated during the tissue drying process and the air-to-air process heat exchange for make-up and combustion air. The upgrade of the complete heating and room ventilation system of the plant was part of the scope as well.
With a capacity of about 620,000 t/a, ICT, numbers among Europe’s leading tissue producers. ICT and Andritz partnered for the first time in 2001 when ANDRITZ successfully installed the tissue production line PM11 at ICT Poland in Kostrzyn, followed by several conjoint projects in Europe.
Andritz Novimpianti, member of the Andritz Group since 2018, has more than 30 years of experience designing, installing, and servicing drying technology for all kinds of tissue and paper machines around the world. With this order it has more than 30 PrimeDry YES systems successfully in operation – a benchmark in the tissue industry.
