Directly following information-packed tissue technical programming (Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26) at TAPPICon, TAPPI’s Yankee Dryer Safety & Reliability Committee (YDSRC) will hold its annual Spring Business Meeting at TAPPI headquarters in Atlanta, Ga., on Thursday, April 27.
The agenda for the meeting is tentatively scheduled as follows:
- Sub-committee Reports
- Operational Life – High Stress Low Cycle of a YD
- Dust Mitigation Update
- Heat Transfer & Condensing / Straw Setting
- Safe Grinding Practice
TAPPI’s YDSRC focuses on developing industry standards and standard practices for problems that cause drying system delay and compromise safety across the tissue industry. If you manage, or work directly with Yankee Dryers, considered one of the most dangerous and costly areas of the tissue mill, then you need to join this active group of YD manufacturers, owners, users and service providers. Membership in this vital committee will help you expand your knowledge of safe, reliable operating and maintenance practices.
In a departure from previous years, the Yankee Dryer Sub-Committees Meeting will be co-located with TAPPICon in Atlanta’s Cobb Galleria on Wednesday, April 26 (12:30-2:30pm), a day before the business meeting which moves to TAPPI HQ the following day (April 27), a short distance from the Galleria. Transportation for TAPPICon attendees will be provided. Yankee Dryer Sub-committees include Yankee Bearing & Maintenance Reliability, Yankee Hood and Process Air Systems, Yankee Steam & Condensate, Yankee Surface Reliability, and Steel Yankee.
Co-Chairs of TAPPI’s YDSRC are Nicolas Genske, Kimberly-Clark, and Daniel Ludden, Toscotec. To learn more about participating in YDSRC, the Spring Meeting, or lunch sponsorships, please contact Division Manager Hannah Peterson by email or phone at 770-209-7243. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
