TAPPI’s Yankee Dryer Safety and Reliability Committee Announces Topics for Tech Talks at Spring Meeting

TAPPI’s Yankee Dryer Safety & Reliability Committee (YDSRC) Spring Meeting has announced topics for the highly anticipated Tech Talks.
YDSRC Tech Talks are special technical presentations that cover in-depth problems around inspection, repair and dependability of the Yankee Dryer that can cause drying system delays and compromise safety. The Spring Business Meeting, including the Tech Talks, will be held following TAPPICon on Thursday, April 27 at TAPPI headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
Tech Talks Topics Announced:
- Operational Life – High Stress Low Cycle of a Yankee Dryer
- Heat Transfer & Condensing / Straw Setting
- Safe Grinding Practice
Prior to the Business Meeting and in a departure from previous years, the Yankee Dryer Sub-Committee Meetings will be co-located with TAPPICon and held on the event’s final day, Wednesday, April 26, from 12:30-2:30. Any Sub-Committee meeting participants wishing to attend the Business Meeting on Thursday will be provided transportation to and from TAPPI headquarters. The Business Meeting is free, but registration is required to reserve a spot.
TAPPI’s YDSRC focuses on developing industry standards and standard practices for problems that cause drying system delay and compromise safety across the tissue industry. Co-Chairs of TAPPI’s YDSRC are Nicolas Genske, Kimberly-Clark, and Daniel Ludden, Toscotec.
