Colombian tissue manufacturer C.Y.P. Del R. S.A. has started up a complete AHEAD 1.8 tissue line supplied by Toscotec at its mill in Risaralda. This is a repeat order for Toscotec, who successfully installed a TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer at the same mill on PM1 in 2021.

Designed for optimal energy efficiency, the new AHEAD 1.8 machine features an upgraded design TT NextPress shoe press, a third-generation TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer, and a high-efficiency TT Hood. The supply includes Toscotec’s patented TT SAF® DD Short Approach Flow with Double Dilution to reduce electrical consumption and a TT LowMistFormer for optimal formation efficiency. The service package included detailed engineering, erection supervision, commissioning, training, and start-up assistance.

Juan Felipe Henao Bernal, operations manager at C.Y.P. Del R. S.A., comments, “We were very impressed with the fast start-up curve achieved by Toscotec: in just a couple of days, the new PM3 was operating at its maximum speed and delivering superior performances. We are happy with the project outcome and look forward to reaping the fruits of its energy efficiency design.”

Gabriele Martinelli, project manager at Toscotec, says, “Following the installation of its new steel Yankee, our cooperation with C.Y.P. Del R. S.A. continued very productively on PM3. The high performance we quickly achieved on the new machine was a great satisfaction for both our teams. With this tissue line, Toscotec further strengthens its position as the leading technological supplier in the expanding Latin American market.”
