The Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) is delighted to publish its 2023 – 2024 Annual Review.
This Review highlights the wide range of issues managed by CPI over the past year. It shows our work on environmental and energy policies, packaging issues, corrugated promotion, forestry, recycling, health and safety, industrial strategy, and employment. Additionally, the review emphasises new initiatives in competitiveness designed to help members navigate these uncertain times.
These highlights are set against a backdrop of global uncertainty, armed conflicts and elections worldwide, especially the UK General Election on July 4th.
Looking to the future, CPI is focused on supporting members in their resilience to global megatrends, including climate change, demographic shifts, and advances in AI, which will impact both industry and society. CPI is developing a strategy to 2030 to support the industry through these changes and looks forward to sharing its plans in the near future.
CPI Director General Andrew Large says, “I am always incredibly proud of the work that the CPI Team has undertaken to assist members and to work with all stakeholders to support their operations. The position of the industry continues to be challenging, especially in some sectors, but the contribution of paper and its products to the quality of daily life is better understood than before. This year, we have reinforced the CPI team to broaden our activities, especially in Skills and International Trade, and I look forward to seeing all our work grow in the months and years to come.”
CPI is the leading trade association representing the UK’s Paper-based Industries, comprising paper and board manufacturers and converters, corrugated packaging producers, makers of soft tissue papers, and collectors of paper for recycling.
CPI represents an industry with an aggregate annual turnover of £13 billion, with 56,000 direct and a further 59,000 indirect employees. Back to Tissue360 Newsletter |
