TAPPI’s upcoming Introduction to Pulp and Paper (IPP) Technology Course, January 13-16, 2025 in St. Petersburg, Florida offers newcomers to the tissue sector a solid foundation in the fundamentals of pulping. Early bird registration rates end December 16, 2024.
For more than 50 years, the annual IPP curriculum has been continually updated to keep pace with changing technology, and includes not only what happens throughout the process, but why it happens. Professionals new to the tissue industry, or even those considered “seasoned,” find this course a valuable tool for quickly ramping (or catching) up.
“This is the most comprehensive, four-day introductory- to intermediate-level pulp and paper course in the industry,” said Course Chair and Professor Emeritus of Paper Science & Engineering at North Carolina State University, Dr. Michael Kocurek. “The curriculum covers everything from incoming wood and chips, pulp mill operations, chemical recovery, recycling, stock prep, machine operations, pulp and paper quality, and environmental topics.”
Participants gain a broad perspective exploring the entire pulping and papermaking process, increase their ability to contribute to improving tissue production, get personalized answers to specific questions and operating problems, and learn how to interact more knowledgeably with suppliers, process engineers and operators. Review the course schedule for more information on planned topics.
This course is ideal for technical operators, supervisors, suppliers, consultants, as well as non-technical personnel.
