Hanke Tissue Starts Up with New Headbox on PM 1

Hanke Tissue, Kostrzyn, Poland, has successfully started up a new hydraulic headbox and related system supplied last fall by PMPoland S.A. The PMP upgrade project included a new hydraulic headbox, a new fan pump, and complete stock approach piping. The single-layer Intelli Jet V headbox was installed on the mill's existing fourdrinier machine, PM 1, which has a pondside width of 3,500 mm. The main goal of the project was quality improvements in regard to basis weight and formation. The new headbox was also designed to boost operating speed from 650 m/min to 800 m/min, allowing the machine's 12,000 metric tpy to be increased by 20%. Hanke Tissue produces printed napkins, uni-color napkins, toilet tissue, kitchen towels, handkerchiefs, and other tissue.
