SCA's Smith Elected President of CFI's Recovered Paper Sector

Steve Smith, director of SCA Recycling U.K., with responsibility for Finance and Human Resources, has been elected president of the Recovered Paper Sector of the U.K.-based Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI). Smith takes over from Chris White, commercial Manager at Aylesford Newsprint. Neil Clarke, managing director of SCA Recycling U.K., was elected VP for Smith's term of office.

Smith has been with SCA Recycling since July 1993 and has extensive experience in the industry. This includes board-level management of the SCA Recycling network of U.K. recovered paper operations, domestic and export markets for recovered paper, and recent infrastructure investment in MRF technology. He will lead a balanced CPI Recovered Paper Sector Council representing a membership comprising U.K, recovered paper reprocessing mills, integrated recovered paper merchants, independent recovered paper merchants, and a number of associated members.
