SCA, BioGaia Working Together on Health-Oriented Products

SCA and BioGaia, both of Stockholm, Sweden, have formed a long-term cooperation agreement to develop new health-oriented products. The companies plan to combine BioGaia’s expertise in the field of probiotic bacteria and applications technologies with SCA’s distribution network and knowledge in the area of hygiene products.

Researchers at SCA hope to transform their existing patents regarding probiotic bacteria into commercially viable products. For example, probiotic bacteria could be used to prevent urinary tract infections.

SCA is one of the largest companies in personal care products and a global market leader for incontinence products.
