SCA’s New Tissue Machine Comes Online in Mexico

SCA, Sweden, reportedly has brought its new $240 million, 60,000 metric tpy Metso tissue machine online at the company’s greenfield mill in Sagahún City, Mexico. The machine produced its first tissue paper reels "in accordance to the learning curve as well as commissioning phases," according to RISI, which adds that some of the mill’s four converting lines began operations in October, using tissue paper from other SCA facilities in Mexico. The remaining lines are expected to begin production in March. The new mill uses 100% recovered fiber.
