Authorities Approve Suominen’s Acquisition of Ahlstrom Wipes Business

Competition authorities in Spain, Germany, and the U.S. have approved Suominen Corp.’s (Brazil) acquisition of Ahlstrom Corp.’s (Finland) Home and Personal wipes fabrics business area. The transaction is estimated to be completed by October 31 at the latest. Authority approval of the transaction in Brazil is estimated to take place during the first quarter of 2012, and it is not a prerequisite of the completion of the transaction outside of Brazil.
