SCA Hygiene Products GmbH, Heidenheim, Germany, has ordered from Voith, Germany, a complete tissue paper plant. The new TM 5 production line will be installed at the SCA mill at Kostheim near Mainz, Germany. The order volume for Voith is in the triple-digit million range, the company notes.
At 5.5 meters, the new TM 5 will have double the wire-width of a standard tissue paper machine. At a surface weight of 20.5 gsm, it will produce nearly 60,000 metric tons of high-quality towel papers per year. Commissioning of the new TM 5 is scheduled for spring 2013.
A decisive factor in selecting the Baden-Württemberg family-owned Voith as supplier of the new plant reportedly was its premium tissue technology that features very low energy consumption. The Voith delivery also includes the stock preparation plant, the drying technology, and the entire electrification and automation system. Additionally, Voith will be providing a full service package, the complete engineering, and the paper machine clothing.
