Yuen Foong Yu Starts up First of Two Intelli-Tissue 1500 Machines in China

Yuen Foong Yu (YFY), Yangzhou, China, has started up the first of two new Intelli-Tissue 1500 machines ordered from PMP (Poland) in July 2011. PM 5 was brought online August 8 at 5:25 p.m. Ming-Fa Tang, mill spokesman, reports that "it was the fastest assembly and startup in the history of the YFY Corp."
This is the second Intelli-Tissue 1500 machine installed by YFY, with the first machine having started up in 2008 in Beijing, China. The two machines at Yangzhou, PM 5 and PM 6, are both 2.8 m wide crescent former Intelli-Tissue 1500 machines, each with a maximum operating speed of 1,600 m/min. and a production capacity of 75 tpd. The machines are designed as Eco-Tissue machines, which maximizes quality and minimizes fiber consumption. They are able to produce virgin fiber based tissue with a basis weight range of 13 – 31.3 gsm for conversion into facial tissue, bath tissue, and kitchen towels.
PMP’s scope of supply covered stock preparation, the tissue machines (each with an Intelli-Jet VTM headbox, Intelli-Former crescent former, Intelli-Press, 16 ft Yankee dryer with high efficiency steam hood, and an Intelli-Reel, and auxiliary systems such as mechanical drives, lubrication system, steam and condensate system, and dust removal.
YFY is comprised of three business Units. The Household Products Business Unit has three major brands of tissue paper: Mayflower, Tender, and Delight. Its production lines cover paper products such as toilet paper, tissue paper, facial tissues, paper towels, and napkins. The unit is also responsible for producing cosmetic products such as bio-facial masks for leading brands in the country.
