OMET, Lecco, Italy, reports that its expansion over the past several years, and particularly its new facility in Lecco that recently opened, have been designed to strengthen its leadership in the tissue machinery converting arena and to support the development of new technologies in the tissue industry. The new facility consists of 1,450 square meters dedicated to the manufacturing sector and 550 square meters of office space.
The warehouse and offices were completely renovated, meticulously following all safety and environmental regulations, the company notes. Photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof of the plant, providing all of the company’s electricity needs.
"The significant increase in orders for machinery in recent years has not been the only reason that led us to implement a further expansion of the production department of OMET," says Marco Calcagni, sales and marketing director. "Our tissue machine division needs room to develop new projects that we are pursuing with great conviction and confidence, and that will be the leading industry’s technology in the coming years. This is only the first step of a strategic plan of development for tissue that will provide important new investments in the next two or three years. This is definitely a first major change that will bring great advantages in terms of production efficiency and capacity to meet the growing demands of our machines from all over the world."
