SCA to Build New Personal Care Products Line in Russia

SCA, Stockholm, Sweden, reports that it will build a new production line for incontinence care products in Russia at its plant in the city of Veniov in the Tula district some 180 km south of Moscow. The decision follows the company's assessment that the Russian market for incontinence care products is expected to "grow considerably in the years immediately ahead." SCA has been established in the Moscow region since 2008, with the installation of production facilities for baby diapers. SCA notes that once the new plant is operating in 2011, it will be able to substantially decrease imports from its plants in Olawa, Poland, and Gennep, Holland, thus lowering high transportation costs and duties. The new line for incontinence care production line will cost approximately SEK 138 million.
