Last summer First Quality Tissue, Great Neck, N.Y., USA, announced plans to build an additional tissue/towel manufacturing facility with a location to be announced at a later date. The company recently confirmed that it has now selected Anderson, S.C, USA, as the site for its latest expansion.
Initial plans for the Anderson County facility call for two state-of-the-art Thru-Air-Dried (TAD) machines being installed consecutively, doubling First Quality's current capacity. The company is anticipating having the first machine operational in the third quarter of 2011 and the second machine on-line by third quarter of 2012.
First Quality notes that this new investment in the Southeastern U.S. is another demonstration of its commitment to the tissue and towel industry and its "dedication to satisfying the needs of the market by providing innovative and high quality products." First Quality currently operates two TAD tissue facilities with a combined capacity of approximately 150,000 tpy;. Each new TAD machine at Anderson will add additional capacity in excess of 70,000 tpy.
