Nishinihon Eizai Starts up First Toscotec TT SYD in Japan

Toscotec, Italy, reports that it has successfully started-up the first TT SYD (Steel Yankee Dryer) installed in Japan. In collaboration with Toscotec local agent Shinsei Corp., the TT SYD-12FT Yankee was supplied to Nishinihon Eizai Co., a producer of tissue in Tatsuno-chō, near Osaka (Japan).

Nishinihon Eizai was founded in 1963, and is managed by Yasuhito Goda, the third generation of the family to manage the business. The mill houses five paper machines and produces 2,500 tons per month of toilet roll and tissue towel made from 100% wastepaper. The new TT SYD-12FT replaced the old 12 ft cast iron Yankee on Tatsuno-chō PM 2.

After startup, the machine speed was increased 18% with considerable energy savings, a key issue in Japan, Toscotec reports.
