Steven Leese, Director, Communications Center and 9-1-1 Services
Steve began work with APCO International in 2013, and currently serves as the Director of Communications Center and 9-1-1 Services. Steve works with an excellent team that supports agencies by facilitating the standards development process, Agency Training Program Certification (a Project 33® Initiative), the RETAINS Staffing Toolkit, Next Generation 9-1-1 development and APCO Consulting Services. Steve has worked in public safety for 34 years as a telecommunicator, police officer, emergency management director and 9-1-1 director. Steve is a University of Michigan graduate, and a former President of the Michigan Communication Directors Association. A Marine Corps veteran, Steve served as a Military Police Sergeant, and Presidential Guard at the White House. Steve and his wife Anita are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their 12th grandchild in April.
