Officials for APCO International and NENA adopted on October 27, 2020, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to guide the joint standards development work undertaken by the two organizations when renewing a joint standard. One such example is the Standard for Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT) Deployment (1.103.2-2015), which is up for its next five-year review this year. Separately, the two organizations conduct their standards work utilizing somewhat different procedures; the MoU serves as a bridge across these small differences in process.
“APCO International was pleased to adopt the MoU so the mutually beneficial work of joint standards may progress smoothly in furtherance of the joint interests of APCO and NENA members,” said Margie Moulin, President of APCO International.
