The program began in July 2016 and is designed for public safety communications professionals who aspire to executive leadership positions within the industry.

As a presenter you’ll receive one full, two-day registration. Deadline for proposals is February 17.

Patricia has worked at APCO for 12 years and oversees all APCO events. She has a degree in communications, is a Certified Meeting Professional and is certified in exhibition management. Some of her recognitions include Connect Association Magazine’s 40 under 40, the Spirit of APCO Award and Volusia/Flagler County Business Report’s 40 under 40. She stays up-to-date on current meeting trends with memberships to ASAE and IAEE and is currently on the PCMA Achievement Awards and Recognition Committee. Ken has been an APCO frequency advisor for the past 31 years and has received training in all aspects of the AFC training requirements. He has received the APCO Senior Member award as well as the APCO Life Member designation. Prior to joining APCO, Ken had exclusive communications training starting in 1954 when he joined the Army, where his training in radio operation and equipment repair provided him with all the current basics during that period. After six years he departed the Army for civilian life only to join the Air National Guard in Ohio.

To facilitate first responders in emergency situations, the Ottawa (Illinois) Police Department and its telecommunicators have initiated a Safe Home program for residents within the agency's 9-1-1 service area.
"This new voluntary program enables our responders to use information, which area citizens provide about their property when there is a need for immediate access to a residence," said Lead Telecommunicator Joel Smith.
