Joanne Greco, Online Course Coordinator
Joanne joined the APCO Institute staff in 2012 and works as the Online Course Coordinator. In this capacity, she is responsible for scheduling and monitoring all online courses and works closely with Institute adjunct instructors and students to ensure the most effective training is received.

Joanne assisted with the launch of the instructor enrichment and instructor techniques courses, the Illuminations Program and the CALEA Law Enforcement, Training Academy and Campus Security courses. She has been the recipient of APCO's Project Team Award and the Fiscal Impact Award.


Joanne holds a bachelor's degree in business management and accounting from Kaplan University.

MissionCritical Communications Along with several other mission-critical communications groups, APCO International has urged the FCC to consider bands other than 6 GHz to achieve its flexible spectrum use goals in order to avoid negatively impacting public safety communications.
 
WHMI Livingston County Central Dispatch was named the Michigan Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials 2017 Team of the Year for its communications efforts during a major freeway crash, likely the largest incident the center has ever handled.
 
Multichannel FirstNet will have an oversight hearing with the House Communications Subcommittee on November 1. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), chair of the subcommittee, said "...we are committed to monitoring FirstNet’s progress to ensure it brings modern communications capabilities to the brave men and women who keep us safe. It’s vital that we deliver on a system that our firefighters, police officers, EMTs and all those on the frontlines of public safety can rely on."

Lansing State Journal Eaton County, Mich., voters will decide November 7 whether a monthly surcharge of up to $1.75 will be added to every phone line in the county to pay for a $12.8 million upgrade to the county's 9-1-1 radio system.
