This week, APCO announced that Meghan Architect, director of APCO’s Marketing and Communications Department, has been promoted to the position of chief marketing officer (CMO). In her new role as CMO, Ms. Architect will be responsible for an integrated marketing approach, spanning all facets of APCO, including brand management, public relations, digital marketing and event marketing. Ms. Architect will join the Executive Leadership Team to collaborate with other senior leaders and closely align marketing strategies with the organization's mission and objectives.

The revised and updated Fire Service Communications, 3rd Edition, advances training to the next level for public safety telecommunicators, improves service to callers requesting assistance and increases the safety of field responders. For those currently certified in FSC, 2nd Edition, free update courses for students and instructors are available for a limited time to meet recertification requirements.

 

The APCO Institute courses and programs pricing changes are effective July 1.

 

The APCO Commercial Advisory Council (CAC) will host a webinar on June 28 at 2 p.m. ET to discuss the advantages of APCO commercial membership.

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) announced today that Renee Gordon has been named Vice Chair of the FirstNet Authority Board, effective immediately. A recognized leader in the 9-1-1 community, Gordon is the director of the emergency communications center (ECC) in the City of Alexandria (Va.) and has been a member of the FirstNet Authority Board since November 2022.
