Pre-planning begins for new bridge in National Capital Region

Just east of the downtown core, a new crossing could be built between 2032 and 2034. The federal government kicked off plans for the project with an impact study and design. Right now, the lack of a route connecting Ontario highways and bridges forces trucks to travel through Ottawa's downtown core.
