“Workplace Violence Prevention Certification”
Become CAL/OSHA compliant! Presented by Andria Marrs
CRA has teamed up with Marrs Training Solutions to get your staff certified.
California Senate Bill 553 (SB 553) was signed into law on September 30, 2023. SB 553 amended Labor Code section 6401.7 to require employers to develop and implement a workplace violence prevention plan in accordance with newly codified Labor Code section 6401.9, which sets out the requirements for the plan. Starting July 1, 2024, the majority of employers in California must establish, implement, and maintain a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan. Workplace violence prevention is crucial for maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Ensuring employees are protected from threats, harassment, and physical violence fosters a positive atmosphere, boosts morale, and enhances overall job satisfaction. Proactively addressing potential risks and implementing effective safety protocols not only helps in reducing incidents but also minimizes legal liabilities and operational disruptions. A strong commitment to workplace violence prevention demonstrates an organization's dedication to the well-being of its staff and promotes a culture of respect and security. Rental Center News

Business News
Our indoor office is air conditioned. Does our business need to include the indoor heat illness requirements in our Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)?
Yes. The indoor heat illness prevention requirements can either be included in the IIPP or maintained as a separate document or amendment to the IIPP.
The requirements are in effect now. On June 20, 2024, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board adopted the proposed indoor heat illness prevention standard. It was forwarded to the Office of Administrative Law, approved on July 23, 2024, and, as requested by the Standards Board, became effective immediately.
