“Sales Coach for the Rental World”
Presented by Elliott Vigil

Sales training in the equipment and party rental industry is crucial for success in a competitive market. With a diverse range of products and services, sales professionals need to be well-versed in the features, benefits, and applications of various equipment and party rental items. Training should focus on understanding customer needs, effective communication, upselling techniques, and building long-term client relationships. Additionally, sales training should incorporate knowledge about industry trends, pricing strategies, and competitor analysis to empower sales teams to adapt and thrive in dynamic market conditions. Ultimately, well-trained sales staff can drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction, positioning rental companies for sustained success in the industry.
Elliott Vigil has over 20 years of sales experience in the construction and rental equipment world as the nationally #1 ranked sales rep... this workshop will definitely benefit your sales team!

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), workers’ compensation costs U.S. employers nearly $1 billion per week, including indirect expenses like lost productivity, human resources support, replacement employee training, and reputational damage. Employee chronic health conditions are a major driver of those substantial workers’ comp costs. According to a study by Travelers Insurance, half of all U.S. workers have at least one chronic condition. Treating an injured worker with an underlying chronic condition costs employers twice as much as treating one without. Yet employers often underestimate the influence employee wellness programs can have on injury rates and workers’ comp claims.

Peer Executive Groups (PEG) has named the winners of its 2024 Top Gun Awards. The Top Gun Award recognizes businesses who receive the PEG Award for Financial Excellence. The awards are given to the top 25 percent of rental operators based on financials verified by Peer Executive Groups. This is the sixth year that PEG has named companies for this prestigious award.

Peer Executive Groups (PEG) has elected to recognize the best operators in their network that report their financials in the Hybrid/Dealer category. To qualify for this designation, Rental Sales amount to less than 70% of their total sales. Some of these members, in addition to Rental, submit performance results on Equipment Dealer Sales, Building and Material Sales, Hardware Sales, etc. These members have difficulty achieving the EBITDA as percentage of sales results of “pure rental” stores. This is a comfortable trade for most of these members as they have greater than usual sales and support more employees and overhead.
In 2023, Peer Executive Groups measured those Rental Operators focused on Homeowners as anyone who self-reported Homeowners as at least 35% of their total volume. The homeowner benchmark was comprised of over 30 peer group members. It is acknowledged by PEG that EBITDA achievement is more difficult due to increased employee costs servicing smaller and shorter contracts in general.

Euan Youdale, editor, Access International, reported on June 14:
In a series of changes in sales management at Genie, rental veteran Ben Bradshaw has joined the company as its new Executive Vice President of sales in North America, while new senior positions are announced in Europe. Ben Bradshaw, who was previously senior vice president at H&E Equipment Rentals, will combine his background in the rental industry and its customers’ needs to add to the strength of the Genie team, said the company.
Expanding on Bradshaw’s appointment, Genie said, “In addition to his strong industry background and deep understanding of the needs of equipment rental providers, Bradshaw has deep family roots in the equipment industry. “His dad, Bob Bradshaw, spent 22 years at Genie before retiring as Regional Vice President for Sales for the West Coast. Ben’s grandfather and Bob’s dad, also named Bob Bradshaw, spent nearly 40 years in the equipment and rental industry at Shepherd Machinery.”
“For nearly 60 years, since Bud Bushnell founded Genie in 1966, our customers have been at the center of what we do,” concluded Matt Treadwell, Genie Vice President of Global Sales. “These changes support that customer-first focus, and will help us strengthen our commitment to delivering not only the quality products our customers need from us, but also the quality customer experience and support that sets Genie apart as an industry leader, and true partner.”
Business News
TapGoods (https://www.tapgoods.com/), a supplier of equipment and event rental-specific software, posted an article about starting event rental businesses on November 2023.
Is it worth it to start a party rental business? If you’re an entrepreneur seeking a highly profitable, low-cost business opportunity with endless potential, look no further than the equipment rental industry. From event and party rentals to heavy construction equipment, the rental industry is rapidly booming in 2023. But one market in particular stands out with impressive growth and potential for profit: the event/party rental sector. According to research, the Global Party Supply Rental Market is projected to reach a whopping USD 37.54 billion by 2030.
Party rental businesses enjoy a 10-15% profit margin for the inventory they rent out, which is higher than the average profit netted from average retail stores. Why? Rental businesses typically have lower overhead costs than traditional retail businesses. They don’t need to invest heavily in maintaining a physical storefront, which can be expensive in terms of rent, utilities, and staffing. Instead, they can operate from a warehouse or storage space, reducing fixed expenses.
So, is it worth starting a party rental business? It’s a resounding – maybe. Opening a small business is no joke; it demands dedication and some serious effort to get your business up and running. However, if you’re prepared to put in the hard work and are committed to making smart business decisions, then a rental business can present a valuable and profitable opportunity.
This article explores the five crucial steps you MUST follow when establishing your party rental business.

With the 4th of July right around the corner, many Americans will proudly fly the U.S. flag at their homes and places of work. As a sign of respect, clean and damage-free flags should always be used—dirty, ripped, wrinkled or frayed flags should never be used. Also, when flags are damaged, they should be destroyed in a dignified manner. If you're ready for a new flag, don't just throw the old one in the trash—that's considered disrespectful. Just as there's etiquette for displaying Old Glory, there's also etiquette for disposing of flags in a dignified manner. Before putting up your flag, make sure it is in good condition. If it isn't, and it's time to get a new one, here is information about disposing of your old flag in a respectful manner.
Many state and county government offices and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts have flag disposal boxes outside of their buildings. Police stations also collect them. Once the disposal boxes are full, various organizations such as the American Legion, VFW, and the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts collect the flags and hold flag retirement ceremonies.
