4. Comments about employee time off (15 responses)
1. The only time we restrict time off is if we have multiple people already scheduled off.
2. We encourage employees to not take vacations where the time would leave us critically short of people. We also encourage them to schedule their vacations during slower times of the year.
3. Must be scheduled and approved two weeks in advance.
4. 1-2 weeks vacation, 6 sick days per year.
5. Employees may take accrued time off if it does not affect work schedule or other employees. Time off is to be approved by the branch manager at least 2 weeks prior to the time being requested.
6. Never time off during our busiest times.
7. Must give 30 days notice for time off requests unless it’s a family emergency.
8. I’d rather kill them than give them time off.
9. Time off is granted on a first-come first-served basis and is on availability, taking into consideration job fulfillment.
10. All submissions for PTO must be submitted a month in advance. PTO requests are denied during large events.
11. During the busy season, there are blocked out dates that are no time off. For Thanksgiving, everyone works the day after the holiday.
12. We do have a time-off request form which much be submitted and approved for any time off.
13. Must have approval before scheduling time off. We also allow our staff to take up to 25% of their vacation pay without taking time off.
14. We prefer vacations be taken in slower times. However, that is not always possible.
15. As per request, if it works, ok; if not, request denied. May and June understood we are busy, don’t ask.
5. Additional comments:
1. We appreciate your concern about our business matters to help all of us succeed.
2. A survey on health insurance would be helpful. Do you pay in full, don’t pay, etc.
3. We keep a calendar to write down important daily stuff. Employees must request time off in advance. Once the weekly schedule is posted, we don’t intend to modify. Most of my staff lets me know weeks in advance for doctor’s appts., trips, etc.
