CRA received the sad news from former CRA Board Member Gail Carhart-Scofield that her husband Gary passed away on March 17, 2018. Gary Scofield passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
One result of the opioid crisis is the growing popularity of workers’ compensation drug formularies. Workers’ compensation drug formularies are in place in Arizona, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. And they are currently working their way toward approval in the legislatures of Indiana, Kentucky, New York, California and Montana. Texas was the first state to adopt a workers’ compensation drug formulary in 2011. Since then, employers and insurers in Texas have experienced significant savings in prescription drug costs and a decrease in opioid prescriptions.

Little Beaver Inc., a manufacturer of quality earth drills and miniature trenchers, offers D-Series augers for extended drilling depths. The series features a secure drive pin connection, allowing operators to drill deeper than 15 feet during geotechnical and environmental testing and foundation repair. Augers in the series range from 4 to 18 inches in diameter. "There was a need for a heavy-duty auger that not only drilled farther than our standard snap-on augers but also featured a stronger connection point to handle deeper drilling," said Mike Hale, Little Beaver sales manager. "We designed our D-Series augers with the capability to drill down to 100 feet with auger extensions. The augers, although sturdy, are only half the weight of competitive brand augers of the same size. This significant weight reduction makes transportation, on and off the jobsite, easier for the operator."

The United States  Energy Information Administration provided recent Weekly Retail Gasoline Prices, Regular Grade, by Week and PADD (Self Service Prices per Gallon, Including Taxes) on April 9. See the full report at http://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that drivers in the United States will pay an average of $2.74 per gallon (gal) this summer for regular gasoline, an increase of 11% over last summer, according to EIA's Short-Term Energy and Summer Fuels Outlook. EIA's forecast price for summer 2018 (which runs from April through September) is 26 cents/gal higher than the average price last summer, but still 15 cents/gal lower than the 2013–2017 summer average. The price increase this summer primarily reflects higher forecast crude oil prices compared with last year. EIA projects that monthly average gasoline prices will remain mostly flat this summer, averaging $2.78/gal from April through June before falling to $2.65/gal in September.
