Each year CRA hosts a fund-raising golf tournament for the benefit of its foundation, RSIF (Rental Services Industry Foundation), whose purposes are to provide college scholarships to students interested in the rental industry, to help support members in need of disaster relief, and to provide rental-related educational projects. RSIF is a non-profit organization. This year will be the 5th Annual Tournament, and the tournament continues to grow each year! Isn't it time for you to join in the fun and play? If you don't play, how about rewarding your golfing employees with a day of golf? You don’t need to send a team of four golfers; we will pair singles with other golfers. Equipment vendors and their distributors will display their equipment onsite and, of course, offer refreshments and snacks.
The Tournament is held in Corona, CA, at the Eagle Glen Golf Course, a spectacular course that gives the impression of playing at a private club. Located in the hills, the course provides elevated tees and spectacular views. Register online or download a registration form.
To better understand course of employment rules it’s useful to look at the exceptions. When someone is injured on the job, the connection — or nexus — between the job and the injury is usually clear and indisputable. But sometimes, it’s not. For instance, say you work at home and you tripped over your dog on your way to pull some fabric samples down from a shelf to take with you to a customer? Just such a claim was at first denied by the workers’ compensation judge, then paid on appeal. Exactly what does course of employment mean? We can probably understand the concept better by looking at the exceptions.

Hy-Brid Lifts, an industry leader in high-quality, low-level access equipment, offers a PA-1030 push-around lift with a customized platform designed for textile mills. The narrow platform and lift base size make the lift easy to move through aisles to aid in cleaning of HVAC applications, effectively removing the inherent dangers associated with ladders. Hy-Brid Lifts offers the only customized lift solution tailored to the needs of the textile industry. The customized design offers a reduced platform width of 18 inches and a reduced base width of 29.5 inches, which allows the lift to fit between objects at height where larger rails on other lifts didn’t fit. The feature, first designed for a textile manufacturing customer, provides a solution for the rising number of accidents and injuries associated with ladders.

Welcome to CalSavers, the new retirement savings program designed to give Californians an easy and simple way to save for retirement. State law requires that California employers, who don’t already offer an employer-sponsored retirement plan and who have five or more employees, either sponsor a retirement plan or participate in CalSavers. Starting in July 2019, California began offering an estimated 7 million workers in California the opportunity to contribute to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and get on track for the future. The three-year phased rollout will include staggered deadlines for registration based on employer size. Employers can register now—all eligible employers are encouraged to join at any time prior to their registration deadline.
In the October 2019 Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts lower crude oil prices in the fourth quarter of 2019 and in 2020 despite tighter global balances. The tighter balances are largely the result of unprecedented short-lived loss of global supply following the September 14 attacks on crude oil production and processing infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The production declines contribute to overall stock draws in the second half of 2019 with a relatively large stock draw in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, however, EIA forecasts global supply growth will outpace global demand growth, resulting in an inventory build, offsetting some of the third quarter draws. EIA lowered its crude oil price forecast for the fourth quarter of 2019 by $1 per barrel (b) to $59/b, reflecting current price trends, and lowered its crude oil price forecast for 2020 by $2/b to average $60/b because of expected supply growth.
