Sincerely, CRA Staff (800) 272-7400, Info@CalRental.org This year will be the sixth annual tournament, and the tournament continues to grow each year! Isn’t it time for you to join in the fun and play? If you don’t play, how about rewarding your golfing employees with a day of golf? You don’t need to send a team of four golfers; we will pair singles with other golfers. Equipment vendors and their distributors will display their equipment onsite and, of course, offer refreshments and snacks.
Each year CRA hosts a fundraising golf tournament for the benefit of its foundation, RSIF (Rental Services Industry Foundation), a nonprofit organization whose purposes are to provide college scholarships to students interested in the rental industry, to help support members in need of disaster relief, and to provide rental-related educational projects.
The Tournament is held in Corona, CA, at the Eagle Glen Golf Course, a spectacular course that gives the impression of playing at a private club. Located in the hills, the course provides elevated tees and spectacular views. Register online or download a registration form.

Short-lived or infrequent episodes of stress pose little risk. But when stressful situations go unresolved, the body is kept in a constant state of activation, which increases the rate of wear and tear to biological systems. Ultimately, fatigue or damage results, and the ability of the body to repair and defend itself can become seriously compromised. As a result, the risk of injury or disease escalates.—NIOSH
We all know that continuous exposure to stress damages health. NIOSH, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, reports that it also creates increased risk of injury at work.

Pneumatic hammers are still thriving, but not all the users are. Demolition work is no joke. It’s hard on your body, hard on your equipment, and just an overall hard day of work no matter what way you look at it. The average pneumatic hammers operate at 1200+ blows per minute. One can only imagine the fatigue that can lead to injuries on the job. Providing solutions to these inefficiencies and safety concerns is something Makinex has always excelled at. Makinex has just proudly launched the Lift Assist. The Makinex Lift Assist is a simple, easy-to-install attachment for 60-90 lb. pneumatic hammers. The ergonomically designed Lift Assist reduces operator stress and fatigue, dramatically resulting in high productivity, all while keeping safety at the forefront.

We all know what a job box is. Don’t you wish it could do more? Introducing the latest innovation from Makinex: The Mobile Charging Pod (MCP). This innovative, secure storage pod provides a safe way to store power tools, chargers, battery banks and more. In addition to providing secure storage preventing theft, each of the 6 lockers has its own GFCI compliant outlets, providing power to safely charge batteries while storing them. It’s hard enough to keep up with growing cost of labor, let alone noncompliance fines. Utilizing the Mobile Charge Pod on a jobsite effectively eradicates possible fines that can be related to electrical installation standards, an overloaded switch board, and of course, trip hazards with cords. But wait, there’s more...

Regulatory Up-date: CARB is working on a rule to eliminate all forklifts with internal combustion engines because of the Governor's executive order. Their current timeline is to have the rule designed and submitted to the CARB Board in 7 months. The California propane industry is actively opposing this since propane is cleaner for the environment than electricity. We need your help!
Jon Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, posted this information about the effort to repeal California's death tax:
Whether you’re looking at historic election results or recent polling, it’s clear beyond any doubt that Californians hate death taxes. Back in 1982, voters overwhelmingly approved two ballot measures to abolish state inheritance and gift taxes — not only abolish them, but ban them permanently. A few years later, rising property values had created a new kind of death tax. Property that was transferred within families was being reassessed to market value at the time of transfer. And because real estate prices had gone up so sharply, property that was transferred at the time of death brought with it a new annual property tax bill that was often unaffordable. Grieving families that were unable to pay the new tax bills were forced to sell family properties.
The political heat became so intense that the Legislature passed, by a unanimous vote in both houses, a measure that said homes and a limited amount of other property would be excluded from reassessment when transferred between parents and children. This measure was Proposition 58 on the 1986 ballot. It was approved by more than 75% of voters. Ten years later, voters approved Proposition 193 to extend the same tax rules to transfers of property between grandparents and grandchildren when the children’s parents were deceased.
Sadly, all these protections for California families were swept away by Proposition 19 in November. Many voters did not realize that this measure, presented in a costly ad campaign as something that would help wildfire victims, disabled people and seniors, also took away the constitutional protections that for decades had helped families climb the economic ladder by building generational wealth through property ownership.
