Peer Executive Groups (PEG) has named the winners of its 2022 Top Gun Awards. The awards recognize rental store operators who receive the PEG Pinnacle Award for Financial Excellence. The accolades are given to the top 25% of rental stores, based on financials submitted by rental operators and verified by Peer Executive Groups. This is the fourth year that PEG has named companies for this award, with ranks to be unveiled at the groups Fall Meeting of Minds Conference and Awards Banquet, which takes place on Nov. 9 at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Some state legislatures, such as Idaho’s, have introduced bills to provide workers' compensation for accidents or injuries related to coronavirus vaccinations provided by employers.

 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), however, COVID-19 vaccine injuries are rare, and the side effects are usually mild, such as tiredness, headaches, muscle pains, chills, fever, nausea, and pain, redness or swelling at the injection site. While rare and unusual, the more serious effects that could be experienced would be anaphylaxis, myocarditis, pericarditis, thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome, Guillain-Barré syndrome and death, according to a February 2022 CDC update.

 

For an injury from a coronavirus vaccination to be considered eligible for workers' compensation, a medical intervention of some kind would be required, said Dr. George W. Rutherford, professor of epidemiology at UCSF's School of Medicine, in an interview with Business Insurance.
