In 2016, Technical Standards and Safety Authority ( TSSA ) in Ontario proposed significant changes to the Propane Code Adoption Document ("CAD") which would require RVs equipped with permanently mounted propane tanks to have the propane appliances, propane system and tank inspected on a five-year cycle. Ontario RVDA steadily monitored this issue and participated in frequent dialogue with key stakeholders at TSSA; industry representatives attended risk reduction group ("RRG") meetings. As a result, TSSA determined the RVs described are exempt from the inspection and labeling requirements.
The Ontario RVDA is extremely pleased with this decision. That advisories regarding re-fueling propane vehicles in Ontario were recently approved by TSSA and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and will be published on the TSSA and ORVDA websites. |
