Welcome Aboard, Cliff! SCAPA Introduces New Technical Director

Cliff Selkinghaus

Cliff Selkinghaus joins the SCAPA staff after 28+ years of service with the SC Department of Transportation (SCDOT).  At SCDOT, Selkinghaus served as Asphalt Materials Manager, where he oversaw the daily operations for asphalt binder and emulsion testing, asphalt extraction, asphalt mix design, and asphalt field inspection for the Office of Materials and Research.  Cliff was the chair of the SCDOT Asphalt Quality Improvement Committee (QIC), as well as the 2022-2023 Board Chairman for the Southeaster Asphalt User Producer Group (SEAUPG).  In addition, he served as the SCDOT member on the Consortium for Asphalt Pavement Research and Implementation (CAPRI), and had involvement on numerous national and local research studies through the National Center for Asphalt Technology, Clemson University, and Tri-County Technical College.

Selkinghaus routinely assisted with training in all asphalt certification programs for Tri County Technical College in Pendleton, SC and served on the SCDOT Asphalt Technician Certification Task Force.

Cliff will be the technical resource for SCAPA and will provide technical assistance to SCAPA members, state and local agencies, as well as professional engineers, architects, and developers.
