Sustainability does not fit well with normal procurement practices, and there is little national or international guidance on how best to integrate sustainability into procurement. This webinar provides high-level guidance on various contractual tools that can be used by pavement owners to require or incentivize sustainability. The webinar will also review the applicability of sustainability rating systems, such as LEED and Greenroads, in evaluating sustainability for pavement construction projects. This is the third episode of a 4-part webinar series that accompanies NAPA’s publication series, Sustainable Asphalt Pavements, A Practical Guide.
Key Takeaways:
- Identify methods to include sustainability in the procurement process.
- Understand how various project delivery methods can influence sustainability outcomes.
- Understand the capabilities and limitations of sustainability rating systems in evaluating the sustainability of pavements.
