Photo Rounds at the Field Exams

Here are some of the candid shots from the PCP Field Exams on Monday:

Robin Farver stands in front of the Intech trailer brought to the PCP Field Exams for use during testing. Intech also sponsored the spraygun education tent at the Field Exams.

The Field Exams were made possible through the support of the PCP Field Exam Equipment Sponsors (pictured above). AMEC is also a sponsor.

George Gibson of Frontier Roofing & Restoration in Colorado came to the show after a first-hand experience seeing SPF applied to a roof.  "I was very impressed by it. So much so, I may be spending upward of $50,000 to get involved in it," said Gibson. He is looking into purchasing an SPF rig and also plans on becoming an SPFA member and supporting the industry. He added, "CJ Spray sponsored me to come down here and look at all of the SPF options."

One of the "tents" at the PCP Field Exams is used to illustrate proper shut down procedures. Jay Hutchek of MCC Equipment & Service Center said they brought a 28-foot gooseneck to the Field Exams that "is ready to go." The trailer is being used to illustrate the shut down procedures for SPF contractors. MCC also offers training on trailer start up, said Hutchek.

While waiting for the fire marshal to come and give the thumbs up, and giving the air temperature some time to warm up, SPF buffs use the time to network and do what they do best: talk about SPF!

For the PCP Field Exams, Honeywell provided Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent for the spray booths, as well as provided the actual booth for the wall systems tests. The booth has an air pressure system, venting and is ready for sprayfoam. It was shipped from Buffalo, N.Y., with the help of David Wilkes, who was instrumental in making it happen. Wilkes, a research chemist at Honeywell, said he was "happy to do it" and support the industry.

Matthew DiNenna of JJD Urethane Compae industry in Pennsylvania said he finds the PCP courses, test and field exams "very informative. It is a good thing that the industry is getting standards. It can only help!"

Wayne Clegg of Spray Seal out of Iowa explains some of the ins and outs of gun care, maintenance and cleaning, while Bruce Schenke of Premium Spray Products looks on. Jerry Pollard of Intech was also taking part in this Field Exam.

Bob Heller of Service Partners (at left)  said they brought a big rig to the Field Exams to use for testing and also some equipment for the trade show floor. "Hopefully, we’ll sell all the equipment so we don’t have to bring it home!" he said. He added that they have already sold a lot of equipment at Sprayfoam 2015. "I like SPF! It’s what I do."

Thanks. Robin Farver, for taking a photo of me!  If you have something to share, I can be reached at @shanicalvo on Twitter, or email me at shani@naylor.com. I'll be here the whole show, collecting good information to share in the Conference Daily, the SPFA enewsletter and the magazine, Sprayfoam Professional.
