SPFAdvocacy Network is making a difference

In mid-May, SPFA was notified that the state of Minnesota was proposing legislation (SF4062) to control the use of PFAS chemicals (to learn more about PFAS regulations and their impact on SPF, click HERE). In some cases, the proposed PFAS regulations are overly broad in chemical definition and likely captures products and end-uses not intended, including spray foam.
Working with the American Chemistry Council, the SPFAdvocacy Network called upon its advocates in Minnesota to establish a grassroots write-in campaign to the members of the Senate Conference Committee crafting the legislative language. Although not finalized, the unfavorable PFAS language has currently been removed from the bill, in no small part from the efforts of our Minnesota advocates. Many thanks to all those that participated!
PFAS legislation will likely appear in other states across the US. It’s important that we have a significant number of SPFAdvocacy Network members in each state to participate in future campaigns. Joining the SPFAdvocacy Network is open to both non-members and members of SPFA including all employees, friends and family members. It’s free and takes less than 2 minutes to enroll – just click HERE.
