The SPF industry wants champion advocates like you. We need contractors, suppliers, consultants, homeowners and design professionals around the USA to stand up for policies in your state and in your communities. Whether you are an industry leader or just getting started in the SPF industry, you can raise your voice up to influence policies impacting your business.
The SPFAdvocacy Network has been created by the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance to raise awareness among elected officials and regulators about how public policies impact the spray polyurethane foam (SPF) industry. These policies can relate to a variety of topics such as energy efficiency, infrastructure, safety, chemical regulations, taxation and general operations – all of which will impact you, your family and your business.
Join the SPFAdvocacy Network. There is no cost and you do not need to be an SPFA member. Encourage co-workers, customers, friends and family to join with you. Anyone that supports the SPF industry is welcome. Sign-up is easy and takes less than a minute:

Excitement for the SPFA Convention is growing and folks are making plans to attend. The San Antonio Marriott River Walk is sold out on some of our convention nights. The GOOD NEWS is that the River Walk and downtown area of San Antonio has many hotel options. The Marriott River Center Hotel is directly across the street from our headquarter hotel and there are a multitude of other hotels nearby to suit every traveler’s preference. We suggest visiting www.marriott.com and/or the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau website for other hotel information.

Since the start of 2022, SPFA has received many questions regarding the status of SprayFoam 2022 Convention and Expo in regard to the recent Omicron outbreak. As of this writing, we are planning to move forward with the in-person event, following all venue, city and state requirements. Prior to opening registration, SPFA posted the SPFA Duty of Care Notice on the attendee registration page, which defines SPFA policies and procedures during the event. This week we’ve added an update section at the top of the SprayFoam 2022 webpage. Any changes to the event will be immediately posted here, so please check this page regularly. This update section also includes a link to the San Antonio Convention Center. On the top of the page, the latest COVID safeguards issued by the convention center and City of San Antonio are provided.
If you have additional questions about the status of the show, please email Rick Duncan.

SPFA is doing its part to bring awareness of open positions in the industry to our members, partners, and untapped talent pools. For every one of these positions going unfilled it’s an opportunity missed, an extra staffing challenge drawing attention away from other important priorities, or a customer perhaps needing to wait longer than they should have to.

This directory reflects membership as of June 2021. If you would like more information on Member Benefits and how to join SPFA to be included in next year’s edition, please contact kmarcavage@sprayfoam.org.

Presently nine states have restrictions in place on the use of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) blowing agents used in high-pressure closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (ccSPF). These states include WA, CA, CO, NY, VT, MA, NJ, MD and DE. Starting January 1, 2022, two more states, ME and VA, will be added to this list. Five other states, OR, NV, TX, CT and RI are developing similar regulations that could be in place by 2023. However, it is possible that these states may defer to federal action on HFCs. EPA recently approved several petitions under the AIM Act. This approval indicates EPA is planning to implement a national framework to phase-down HFCs.
The American Chemistry Council’s Center for the Polyurethanes Industry website maintains an interactive map that summarizes state-specific requirements. The map may be found here. SPFA recommends that all SPF contractors doing business in these states work with their suppliers to determine the specific details regarding the transportation, storage, sales and reporting requirements for each state.
