SPFA would like to thank all of our 2017 Convention & Expo Sponsors! Thank you especially to our Premiere Sponsors that came together in pursuit of a new milestone - the most Premiere Sponsors of the event ever! SPFA works hard to build a great experience for convention attendees and our sponsors have recognized that and want to help. From helping to cover high-costs of putting on a growing show, to supporting the SPFA's national Professional Certification Program (PCP) through material donations and scholarships that reduce testing fees - in some cases to zero dollars. One more example of how the industry comes together in SPFA to move sprayfoam forward. Attend the show to thank these companies for their support! For more information, click here.

From the Current Issue of SPRAYFOAM PROFESSIONAL Magazine
A few weeks back, I found myself contemplating the "worth" of being involved in a local business group. The organization's focus was for business owners and operators, and promoted personal and business development (not a networking group.) I had not been attending social functions, it had been some time since I attended a learning event, and there I was considering not attending a regularly scheduled meeting. As my discussion with other members ensued, a member of the group mentioned, "You get what you demand out of an association." Quickly the finger pointed less at the association and mostly at myself.
What had I been doing differently within SPFA versus some other associations? I was involved, and demanded more. When I think of SPFA and the great strengths we have - it's because of those that demand more. Read the full article here.

SPF Tech
Source: sprayfoamadvisor.com / Robert Naini This week I realized that personal comfort makes it all relative. Yesterday when I left Dallas, TX it was about 40°F, that’s generally considered cold for southerners; today as I sit in Aspen, CO its about 10°F and tonight it will be below 0°F. When I mentioned to a local that I was cold back in Texas, she kind of snickered – don’t worry, I didn’t take it personally – but she obviously doesn’t consider 40°F cold.

Join Your Industry Partners in Making This SuccessfulThe SPFA PCP Field Exam Marketing Working Group has launched the Scholarship Drive for Field Exams. The goal is to make Field Exams Free for those who take them at the Sprayfoam 2017 Convention & Expo in Palm Springs, CA. The Field Exams will be held on Sunday-Monday, January 29-30, 2017. The funds from this campaign will be added to the Sig Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund for Field Exams which was established at Sprayfoam 2016. Since Sig, a Past President of SPFA, was instrumental in launching the first field exams held at an SPFA convention - it is fitting that we return to Palm Springs where he headed up the first Field Exams ever held at a Sprayfoam convention. In his memory, we'll offer scholarships to all SPF contractors so they can meet the PCP certification requirements to become certified SPF professionals! Like last year, the cost of the field exams will be reduced through donations to the scholarship fund. These ten companies have already signed up to be sponsors of the Scholarship Fund. Federal/State Government News
Omnibus Deja VuOn Dec. 18, 2015, Congress passed and the President signed a $1.15 trillion omnibus spending bill with a $680 billion tax extenders title. The "Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016" funded the federal government through September 2016 and the "Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act" (PATH Act) extended over 50 tax breaks for businesses and individuals. Among those tax breaks were three building energy-efficiency incentives that were renewed through 2016: the Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credit, Energy Efficient New Home Tax Credit and Commercial building Tax Deduction. All were extended retroactively from Jan. 1, 2015 through Dec. 31, 2016.
